Considerable cloud cover meant that viewing conditions were far
from ideal on the day of the transit, but there were breaks in
the cloud, and many pupils (and several members of staff!) were
able to observe the Transit of Venus.
Mr Dalley prepared a telescope and several binoculars to enable
safe viewing of this rare astronomical event, and was rewarded
with some spectacular views, similar to those shown here.
