The main emphasis is on improving the standard of the Design Folio work produced. Presentation is of the utmost importance. Pupils should look at the many examples of good work on display.

All practical projects should be supported by notes on materials, tools and processes, including safety points (these must be written down as well as verbal). There should also be an evaluation of the finished product, including good points, bad points and ideas for improvements and modifications.

Design and Making
tasks are given two marks: A National Curriculum Level and a Grade for effort, 1-5. Pupils are also given feedback through teacher comments stating targets and giving advice on how to improve.
