Following the outstanding achievements of last
year's sports volunteers, the current Year 13 are well advanced
in their club work, along with Year 12 who are just beginning
their club/school link pathways.
As I write, Liam Cannon at Farsley Celtic is aiming
to achieve the Gold Award (200 hours of voluntary service/leading/coaching
in a sports club), with Gurpreet Singh (Ventnor Youth), Ben
Tempest (Farsley Celtic and Farsley Celtic Cricket Club) and
Jill Hague/ Rachel Skinner at Pudsey Gateway aiming for their
Silver Awards (100 hours).
The current Year 12 Sports Leadership group attended
the Step into Sport conference at South Leeds Stadium to initiate
their year of volunteering in local clubs.
They are:
Josh Loynes - Pudsey & Bramley AC
Amy Parker & Rav Khalirai - Farsley Celtic AFC
Jade Norfolk, Sam Haigh, Karanjit Bains & Stewart Ellis
- Pudsey Gateways
Ryan Lumb - Farsley CC
Sandeep Gill - Leeds Hockey Club
Abygayle Kittsen - Wyke ARLFC
Good luck to all our Sports Leader Volunteers.
Priesthorpe currently has over 90 students on
sports leadership courses!
