The course has 26 pupils participating on a
Thursday afternoon at Farsley Celtic. The group comprises of
a wide range of quality and experience, with each and every
pupil bringing their own characteristics to this leadership
course.
For the past nine weeks the pupils have been involved in
a variety of leadership / communication style tasks, from
problem solving through to discussing issues such as Fair
Play.
Most of the students have now delivered a 10-minute warm-up
to their peers, which included the elements of cardio, stretches
and a modified game. In conjunction with this the pupils were
also divided into five groups, the aim of each being to deliver
a session focused upon team games/activities. The students
organised their own teams and any equipmentand other resources,
and delegated the roles between themselves.
Overall the first part of the course has been a great success,
with a large number of the students demonstrating a high quality
of leadership skills. There has also been a number involved
within the Primary School tournaments held after school, where
they have umpired, scored and supported the teams involved.
