Attendance is required at all sessions. This course cannot be completed with inconsistent attendance. All absences must be justified.
PUNCTUALITY
Prompt arrival to lessons is vital. Lessons begin at the times stipulated NOT several minutes later. Explanations are required for lateness.
CONDUCT DURING SESSIONS
Contact time is limited and has to be used constructively. It is vital that students give full commitment during lessons. You are expected to be present mentally and not just physically! Lessons are not social events, they are for work. They provide the opportunity to understand the theories, concepts, and research which must be mastered in order to pass the exams. Please give full concentration. If you attend in body only, the benefits of being present will be negligible.
INDEPENDENT STUDY
As a Sixth Form student you are expected to engage in work outside class on a weekly basis. This course cannot be completed without full lesson attendance and meeting the demands of the external workload. All homework set must be completed and submitted in time to meet deadlines. Explanations must be provided for any deadlines which cannot be met.
SUPPORT
If you are experiencing difficulty with the course in whatever respect, it is important that you share this so that, together, we can find a means of dealing with the problem(s). I am here to help. I will always find the time to be available to help you with any aspect of the course with which you are struggling.
It is important to be aware that every student at some point will not understand some of the material or will feel that they cannot meet a particular homework target. Understanding can be clarified and workload can be negotiated.
It is important that you come forward with any difficulty so that together we can sort it out. Small problems not addressed, quickly become insurmountable ones. Don't let this happen to you! I am here to help you and provide all the support necessary for you to succeed with this course.
