Year 10 GCSE Geography residential fieldwork
The Year 10 GCSE geographers have just returned from their residential fieldwork trip to the North York Moors and East Yorkshire coast. We were really lucky to enjoy some fantastic sunny May weather and the students have returned to Priesthorpe with some excellent results to help write up their coursework projects.

We visited the Hole of Horcum, looking at the impacts of tourism, and went to Goathland village (famous for the filming of Harry Potter and TV’s Heartbeat). After some well-earned free time in Whitby we headed to our overnight accommodation close to Robin Hood’s Bay and had some time on the beach there. A coastal walk the next day was followed by some fieldwork in Robin Hood’s Bay.

The students really enjoyed the visit and were a credit to Priesthorpe School, with their hard work, positive attitude and good behaviour.

Trinity Successes
For the third year running our pupils have achieved a high level of success in the Trinity Guildhall solo Speech and Drama exams.

Pupils perform play extracts, poems, mimes, improvisations and sight reading in front of an external examiner.

Of the fourteen pupils entered, we gained two passes, nine merits and three distinctions (Dean Patrick Year 11, Vicky James Year 10 and Megan Harrison Year 9).
Congratulations to all the successful students!

A Parent writes...
“What a wonderful performance the A level drama group put on last night for their exam. As usual it was a superb performance, each and every one of them. Their effort and skills certainly paid off. Priesthorpe should be very proud of them.”

The school writes… ”we are very proud of them!” Well done to all.
