PRIESTHORPE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
JANUARY 2007

In this issue:

Future Newsletters
This is a shortened, introductory issue of our school newsletter. We plan that future editions will be twice the length!

It is hoped that a Newsletter will be circulated every half term; it will also be posted here on the web site.

All staff and pupils will be invited to contribute, as will, on occasions, governors, parents and community groups.

If you have any suggestions or comments about the newsletter, please e-mail us.
If you haven’t got access to e-mail, then your child could do it for you. Failing that, there is always traditional post! For further details and addresses, click here.

Weather watch 5-day weather forecast for Leeds
Despite the poor weather (and consequent leaks/floods etc.), we have managed to keep the school fully open. Be assured, we will do all we can to inform you of any changes to school opening arrangements — listen to Radio Leeds and check the web site for up to date information and advice; for further details, click here.

Sports College / Partnership Update

Congratulations to Alex Bell, Grace Christopher and Ryan Greaves for gaining their City colours in Athletics and being chosen to represent Leeds in Dortmund, Germany in March. We are very proud of their achievements.

We are also very proud to have received the new 2006 Sportsmark Award for exceptional delivery of the
National School Sport Strategy.

Hopefully we will be notified in March of our successful re-designation as a Sports College, taking us up to 2010.

More news will be issued in our Young Reporters Newsletter in February. This is a new project involving Year 8 and Year 10 students working together with the Yorkshire Post newspaper.
