PRIESTHORPE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
SEPTEMBER 2006

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new school year. My name is Helen Lane and I will be Acting Headteacher at Priesthorpe until the arrival of our new Headteacher, Ken Hall, in January 2007.

It is an exciting time at Priesthorpe. We have just received our best ever GCSE exam results as well as some very good Key Stage 3 SATs results, with Maths and Science achieving above target.

We are already engaged in the 'Building Schools for the Future' project, which will offer us an opportunity to develop an inspirational learning environment, which should be ready for 2009. There will be a Public Meeting to discuss the plans for this at 6:00pm on Wednesday 20th September in the school hall.

May I take this opportunity to remind parents about parking in the Rockwoods.

This area becomes very congested at the beginning and at the end of the day.
Please travel one way in the direction shown on the map opposite, and be courteous about parking in this residential area.

The gate at the end of the ginnel adjoining the Rockwoods will remain closed except at the start of the day
(7:30am - 9:30am) and at the end
of the day
(3:00pm - 6:00pm).

If you need to drop off or collect your son/daughter at any other time, please do so in the school car park. There is no access to the car park at the beginning and end of the day.

I look forward to working with you. Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email if you would like to talk to me.

Yours sincerely,

Helen Lane
Acting Headteacher
