Special Newsletter: June 2006: End of Term Arrangements Archive

PRIESTHORPE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
JUNE 30th 2006

Dear Parents,

I need to inform you about the arrangements for the end of this academic year and for the beginning of next.

The end of term for both staff and students will be Thursday 20th July, at the close of school at the usual time of 3:15pm.

Leeds City Council has announced that its employees should be granted a day's holiday. As we consort so closely with the other Pudsey schools, the three Heads decided that the least disruptive way was to agree that we would use Friday 21st July for that purpose. This will impact on our Year 10 students, who will be on work experience. They will not now have their debriefing on the Friday morning, as originally planned; the debriefing will take place in September.

The choice of the date fits very neatly with our end of term arrangements. As you are aware, I retire this year, and the staff are 'celebrating' that event on Thursday evening. In fact, we have three departures this summer, as Mr Atkins and Mrs Burhouse are also retiring at the end of term.

Monday the 4th September will be a Training Day, Tuesday is a partial opening for Years 12 and 13 and the new Year 7. The remainder of the school start on Wednesday 6th September at the usual time.

Yours sincerely,

Mr C. Pickles
Headteacher
