PRIESTHORPE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
APRIL 2004

Dear Parents,
I hope you have had a good holiday. I appreciate that you have just received a Newsletter but there are already some extra items of information that I would like to pass on.

Could I start by congratulating Mr Hardaker and Mr Byrne on their successful completion of the London Marathon in what were, apparently, horrendous conditions. Two of our students, Liam Smith and David Derbyshire, qualified to run in the mini-marathon, and both managed very creditable times.

Please support two of our former students, Rachel Butterfield and Lauren Ball, who are currently at Leeds University. They are collecting for Oxfam and would like us to collect CD's, videos and audiotapes which we no longer use. Please look through your music and film collections and send anything you can spare to school. This is a really worthwhile venture and they need our support.

If you come up the school drive please be aware that the police have been receiving complaints about users of our site turning right onto the Ring Road. Please be warned that they are being vigilant.

Could I give you advanced warning that we are having a plant sale. I have a greenhouse full of annuals that will be ready for sale from the middle of May. We have all the usuals plus plants that you cannot get at garden centres. So please support the school by ordering from us. All the profits are used to provide prizes for students who are doing well in school. I will circulate further details to you in early May.

Yours sincerely

C Pickles
Headteacher
