PRIESTHORPE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
JANUARY 2004

Dear Parents

OFSTED INSPECTION

Could I start this important newsletter by wishing you a very Happy New Year.

We have finally received the date for our Inspection. This will mean some changes to our calendar. A team of Ofsted inspectors, led by Mr Denis Pittman, will visit Priesthorpe for the week beginning 9th February. I will therefore have to move the training day scheduled for that week. I had kept one training day in reserve so that staff had time for the extra paperwork involved once notification was received.

There will, therefore, be no students in school on
Friday 30th January and Monday 2nd February.

Parents also need to be aware that our Progress (Review) Week is scheduled for the week prior to the Inspection.
From Tuesday 3rd - Friday 6th February school will close at 2.15pm so that tutors may work with their tutor group to review progress on an individual basis.
On the day of their interview students may be a little late home; on the other three days they will leave at 2.15pm. You will get more details in late January.

Mr Pittman invites all parents to meet him in the main hall at 6.15pm on Thursday 15th January. He will explain the purpose of the Inspection and canvass your views on Priesthorpe. It is an important meeting and I do hope that as many of you as possible can attend. Year 11 parents have a normal Parents' Evening scheduled for the day before; I hope that Year 11 parents will be able to attend both meetings.

Yours sincerely
